Mariah Carey, athletes and influencers allegedly targeted for break-ins by Drug Rich gang members
Drug Rich gang members allegedly broke into Atlanta mansions belonging to influential people, athletes, and celebrities.
The group allegedly targets those who flaunt their wealth on social media, according to district attorney Fani Willis.
According to Ms. Willis, dismantling gangs is a top focus.
The indictment claimed that Carey, Marlo Hampton of Real Housewives of Atlanta, Brad Guzan of Atlanta United
The 26 defendants are charged in the 220-count indictment, which was handed down on August 22.
The majority of them are accused of breaking Georgia's anti-gang and racketeering laws.
According to District Attorney Fani Willis, members of the Drug Rich gang are accused of carrying out carjackings, kidnappings, armed robberies, shootings, and house invasions.
Social media influencers were also victimised in home invasions and burglaries, Ms Willis said.
