Keenan Allen, a wide receiver for the Los Angeles Chargers, is anticipated to play again in Week 7 following an extended absence off the field

Allen reportedly told NFL Network's Bridget Condon that he will play against the Seahawks in Week 7 after missing the previous five games with a hamstring issue.

Week 1 saw Allen's initial injury, and he has been out ever since.

It had been suggested that he might sit out Week 7 and come back after the Chargers' bye week in Week 8,

By the end of the week, it seemed like Allen had improved enough from his treatment that the team felt confident allowing him to play.

The news from Sunday was somewhat surprising, but it is quite positive for Chargers supporters.

Without Allen available, the offense hasn't been at its best, so having the veteran back will undoubtedly make room for other weapons and make Justin Herbert's job simpler.

Keenan Allen had 106 receptions, 1,138 yards, and six touchdowns last year, marking his third straight season with 100 or more catches.

Allen has 310 receptions for 3,329 yards and 20 touchdowns in the last three seasons.
