Enrique Martín Morales[a] (born December 24, 1971), known professionally as Ricky Martin, is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and actor.

He is known for his musical versatility, as his discography spans multiple genres, including Latin pop, pop, dance, reggaeton, and salsa. Dubbed the "King of Latin Pop", the "King of Latin Music", and the "Latin Pop God", he is regarded as one of the most influential artists in the world.

Born in San Juan, Martin began appearing in television commercials at the age of 9 and began his musical career at age 12, as a member of Puerto Rican boy band Menudo.

He started his solo career in 1991 while in Sony Music Mexico, gaining recognition in Latin America with the release of his first two studio albums, Ricky Martin (1991) and Me Amaras (1993), both of which were focused on ballads.

El Vocero, a Puerto Rico newspaper, reported that the order states Martin and the person who filed the complaint dated for seven months. The alleged victim claimed that Martin didn’t take their break up well and has loitered near the petitioner’s home at least three times, according to the report.

Ricky Martin could be facing 50 years in prison following bombshell domestic violence allegations allegedly filed by his 21-year-old nephew.

Earlier in July, it was revealed that a judge in Puerto Rico has issued a domestic violence-related restraining order against the Latin pop icon.

The victim’s name was not previously disclosed. However, according to Spanish publication Marca, Martin’s brother, Eric Martin, claimed that the victim is 21-year-old Dennis Yadiel Sanchez — the singer’s nephew.

The source tells PEOPLE that despite the pair expecting a sibling for 4-year-old daughter True, "Khloé and Tristan are not back together and have not spoken since December outside of co-parenting matters."

Under Puerto Rico’s laws for “incest charges,” the sentence Martin could face is five decades in prison if the allegations are true.
