Tony Finau and Taylor Pendrith tied for Rocket Mortgage lead
In a Detroit duel, Tony Finau and Taylor Pendrith are engaged.
In the Rocket Mortgage Classic's final round, Finau shot a 7-under 65 to tie Pendrith at 21-under 195.
Finau stated, "If we put together a nice round, might be a two-man race. Finau, who won the 3M Open last week in Minnesota,
is attempting to become the first player to win two straight regular-season events in three years.
Pendrith, who was in the lead going into the final round and birdied four of the final five holes for a score of 66,
said: "I definitely feel more pressure just because I've never won and Tony's a repeat winner and he won last week."
At the Bermuda Championship in October of last year, Pendrith was three shots ahead after the third round before closing with a 76 and finishing a career-high sixth.
He finished 13th at the Players Championship in March and left with a $327,222 payout, a career high, and a damaged rib.
