Since reports that Pelosi will resign, one of the candidates, 52-year-old Jeffries, has received the most attention, according to The Washington Post.
When Pelosi resigned, Jeffries tweeted his appreciation for her service to the public, showing how much he respected and looked up to her as a leader.

From 2017 to 2019, he served as the co-chair of the House Democratic Policy and Communications Committee. In January 2019, he was elected to lead the House Democratic Caucus.
