Based on the first novel in Nancy Springer's young adult literary series of the same name, Enola Holmes is a 2020 mystery movie.

The plot centers on the teenage sister of the already-famous Sherlock Holmes, who arrives to London in an effort to locate her missing mother but ends up on an exciting adventure

teaming up with a fleeing lord as they strive to solve a riddle that poses a threat to the entire nation.

Harry Bradbeer, working from a Jack Thorne scenario, directed the movie.

In addition to playing the titular role, Millie Bobby Brown also served as the movie's producer. Helena Bonham Carter, Sam Claflin, and Henry Cavill also appear in the movie.

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Netflix acquired the distribution rights to the movie that Warner Bros.

Pictures had initially intended for a theatrical release. The release date for Enola Holmes is September 23, 2020.

Critics gave the movie favorable reviews and highlighted Brown's performance. In its first four weeks of release

it was watched by an estimated 76 million homes, making it one of the most popular original Netflix movies.

On November 4, 2022, a follow-up, Enola Holmes 2, was made available on Netflix.
