Hugh McKean Biography
Hugh McKean was an American politician from Loveland, Colorado, who died on October 30, 2022, on October 27, 1967. Republican McKean represented the area around Loveland and the Colorado House of Representatives District 51. His first election was in 2016.
McKean previously held the position of Loveland City Councilor before being elected as a state representative. McKean served as the 73rd General Assembly’s elected House Minority Leader from January 13, 2021, until his passing in October 2022. Three days after turning 55, on October 30, 2022, McKean suffered a heart attack at home. In the November 8, 2022 elections, he was running unopposed for a fourth term at the time of his passing.
Hugh McKean served as a member of the Loveland city council in Colorado, the United States. He had been serving as the Republican party’s state representative from Loveland, Colorado, since 2016. He was first chosen as a minority leader in the General Assembly in 2021, 55 years after his birth in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. Beginning in 2009, he served on the Loveland City Council.
