Family
Pinkett Smith attended the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize Concert with her husband and children.
“A mother and daughter’s relationship is usually the most honest, and we are very close,” Pinkett Smith remarked of her relationship with her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris. “My mum” knew what I wanted and never stood in my way, she continued. Banfield-Norris married Paul Jones, a telecommunications executive, in 1998, and she was the maid of honor.

She met Will Smith in 1994 while auditioning for the role of his character’s girlfriend, Lisa Wilkes, on the set of Smith’s television sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She was deemed too short for the part, which was given to actress Nia Long. After Will’s divorce from Sheree Fletcher, he began dating Jada. Will had previously formed feelings for Jada but had refrained from acting on them. Jada subsequently relocated to California from her homeland of Baltimore to be with him. About 100 people celebrated their wedding in The Cloisters, near Jada’s hometown of Baltimore, Maryland, on December 31, 1997, while she was three months pregnant. Jada remarked that she and her husband are “quiet people” and told one interviewer,

The actress has alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss.
Pinkett Smith included as a guest on her Facebook Watch show the mother of 12-year-old Rio Allred, who committed suicide after being ridiculed for having alopecia.
“This is an extremely important alopecia ‘Red Table Talk.'” Thousands have reached out to me with their tales in light of what I’ve been through and what happened at the Oscars,” Pinkett Smith said during the broadcast. “I’m taking advantage of this opportunity to speak with our alopecia family about what it’s like to live with this condition and how we can help one other.”
“I’m taking advantage of this opportunity to speak with our alopecia family about what it’s like to live with this condition and to educate people about what alopecia is.”
She then spoke about her husband’s altercation with Rock.

It was Pinkett Smith’s first public response to the Oscars scandal. A title card at the start of her show in April said, “The Smith family has been focusing on profound healing as a result of everything that has happened in the last several weeks. Until then, powerful, motivating, and healing testimonials like our tremendously amazing first guest will continue to grace the table.”
Her partner
