David Beckham Biography. The current president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF as well as the co-owner of Salford City is the English former professional footballer David Robert Joseph Beckham OBE (UK: /bkm/; born 2 May 1975). Beckham has been praised as one of the greatest and most recognizable midfielders of his generation as well as one of the best set-piece specialists of all time. He is known for his variety of passing, crossing skills, and bending free-kicks as a right winger.   He is the first English player to have won league championships in four different nations: France, England, Spain, and the United States.
With Manchester United, where he made his first-team debut at the age of 17, Beckham began his professional club career He won the FA Cup twice with United, the Premier League six times, and the UEFA Champions League in 1999. The following four years of his career were spent with Real Madrid, where his last season saw him capture the La Liga title.  Beckham committed to the Major League Soccer team LA Galaxy for a period of five years in July 2007. He had two loan stints with AC Milan while a member of the Galaxy in 2009 and 2010. He played 100 UEFA Champions League games, becoming the first British footballer to do so. He retired in May 2013 following a 20-year career in which he amassed 19 significant awards.
On September 1, 1996, at the age of 21, Beckham made his international football debut for England. During his six years as captain, he received 58 caps. He played in 115 matches over the course of his career, including three FIFA World Cups (1998, 2002, and 2006) and two UEFA European Championships (2000, 2004). He retained the outfield player appearance record for England until 2016.

He and Victoria Beckham have four kids together and have been married since 1999. Inter Miami CF, which debuted in 2020, will be owned by Beckham and a group of investors, according to a 2014 MLS announcement.
At Whipps Cross University Hospital in Leytonstone, London, England, Beckham was born. He is the son of kitchen fitter David Edward Alan “Ted” Beckham (born Edmonton, London, 1948) and Sandra Georgina (née West; born 1949); the couple wed in 1969 in the London Borough of Hackney. In honor of his father’s favorite football player, Bobby Charlton, he was given the middle name Robert. His sisters are Joanne Louise, his younger sister, and Lynne Georgina, his older sister. He went to Chingford County High School, which is located on Nevin Drive.  When asked, “What do you want to do when you’re older,” by teachers at school, Beckham said in a 2007 interview, “I want to be a footballer.” I would declare, “I want to play football.” They would respond, “No, what do you,”
David’s primary sporting interest was football, and he inherited his parents’ love of Manchester United. In a talent competition, he gained the opportunity to train with Barcelona and attended one of Bobby Charlton’s Soccer Schools in Manchester.  He was a member of the Ridgeway Rovers, a neighborhood youth group led by his father, Stuart Underwood, and Steve Kirby. For a 1986 match against West Ham United, Beckham served as the Manchester United mascot. Young Beckham participated in trials for Leyton Orient, Norwich City, and Tottenham Hotspur while attending their school of excellence, but he never played for the team.
