Kristie Alley Biography

Alley was born on January 12, 1951, in Wichita, Kansas. She studied journalism at Kansas State University before moving to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She began her acting career in the early 1980s with guest roles on television shows such as “Mork & Mindy” and “The Love Boat.”

In 1982, Alley landed the role of Rebecca Howe on “Cheers” and quickly became a fan favorite. She earned two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe for her performance on the show. After “Cheers” ended in 1993, Alley continued to act in films and television shows, including “Veronica’s Closet” and “Fat Actress.”

Alley continues to act in both film and television, and has recently starred in the Netflix series “The Ranch” and the film “Sharknado 5: Global Swarming.” She is currently working on a new series for the Hallmark Channel.
