Rosa Bonheur with her full name as Marie-Rosalie Bonheur; was born 16 March 1822, was a French artist, mostly a painter of animals
She did a lot of painting and sculptures and she was known as the famous female painter of the nineteenth century.
During her time it wasn’t common for women to be learned but she was learned and also very outspoken as she told the world that she was a lesbian as at the time when it was seen as an animalistic behavior
She dressed in trouser and also took part in activities such as hunting which were known as men activities then
Bonheur died 25 May in the year 1899, at the age of 77 in France. She was buried together with Nathalie Micas who was her long time companion and lesbian mate
